2019 North Eastern Zone Camp
Everyone had a wonderfult 3 days in the bush at the Howqua Hills/Sheepyard Flat area.
Dave White planned a great rider for the Tuesday – it was the perfect length with the ideal degree of difficulty and took in the best of the high country, bringing everyone home safe and happy – and wanting more.
We met them at a lovely campsite (Tunnel Bend) on the river for lunch after they had done 7 or 8 river crossings, full of stories, and then they climbed some mountains to get home at a reasonable time for some R & R before the great roast beef dinner brought in by Karen Marshall.
Wednesday morning was another ride out to a the other end o the Howqua Valley, followed by lunch back at the “lodge” and then pack up for home.
Laureen and Tiahn Barnard were great contributors to house keeping and helping out; very helpful were Renee Murtagh and Kirsty from Wangaratta Pony Club. Georgie and Alex White were also very helpful as were the whole Marshall family.
If you missed it this time don’t miss the next one, especially if Dave and Mike are involved, because they made a great team and brought an awesome experience to our NEZ kids.
Thanks to Mike, Dave and everyone
Awesome fun had by all, make sure you get in on the action next year
